Bearers of Light
Deborah Kelley [email protected]
Nurses run with your torches of light
To relieve those suffering
From peril and plight
Up and down the hall
In and out of rooms
Bring the light and answer the call
Jumping hurdles of all sort
Delivering pain relief to the injured and dying
Putting patients first and being their cohort
Nurses run with your torches of health-giving light
To heal the sick and comfort the forgotten
Day and night
Your reward will be a smile or a sparkle in one’s eye
An elation that is felt in the heart
A feeling that money could never buy
Nurses run with your torches of light
With illumination for those in need
Bearers of the light be diligent and forthright
